SocratesSocrates 469 BCE to 399 BCE - One of the most influential Greek philosopher to not have any surviving text, since he never wrote. Almost all that is known about him is through the writings of his students, Plato and Xenophon. Socrates served as a soldier in the Peloponnesian War, but most of his life was spent in Athens teaching methods of reasoning and logic.
