Hammurabi 1792 BCE to 1750 BCE - A member of the First Babylonian Dynasty. After inheriting the throne of Babylon from his father, Sin-Muballit, Hammurabi was successful in expanding the small kingdom into an empire. During his reign he established the Code of Hammurabi, which is one of the earliest written codes of law.
