Abu Abdallah Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi 780 CE to 850 CE - A Persian scholar whose works in mathematics has left an impact worldwide. His studies introduced Eastern ideas into Europe, and scholars from the Renaissance considered him the creator of algebra. He also made other contributions in astronomy, geography, and cartography.
