Marcus AureliusCaesar Marcus Aurelius Antoninus Augustus 121 CE to 180 CE - Having the reputation as a philosopher king, Marcus was the last of the "Five Good Emperors" of Rome. During his rule there was war with the Parthian Empire and the threatening German tribes along the Northern borders of Rome. Marcus was a known follower of the Stoic philosophy, and wrote many of his own works about the subject.
